Human-Centered Strategic Planning

Moving higher education organizations from ideas to action

Facilitated Planning

Are you at a critical juncture with your organization? Do you need help facilitating important questions, gathering perspectives, visualizing contexts, prioritizing opportunities, and defining a path forward?

Opportunity Areas

Our clients come to us with many strategic needs. Here is a sample of the opportunities we have facilitated through workshops:

  • A newly formed team is exploring and codifying its identity, mission and values

  • A department wants to clarify and define the scope and approach for an important initiative

  • A service organization is examining how they deliver a new or existing service for students, faculty or staff

  • Leaders need to determine strategic priorities for the coming year and beyond

What is your opportunity?

Example: a client planned on conducting research and wanted to gain clarity on the problem hypothesis and research questions.

At Power of Design Services, we believe an organization’s success is contingent on key stakeholders' active participation and alignment in planning and where the value of ideas and knowledge sharing are actively practiced, contributing to the best possible outcomes. Colleges and universities serve people in a variety of ways. Understanding these relationships and touchpoints is core to the institution’s success.

You guided us through understanding and mapping our needs. It was so pivotal in the thinking of the team. There were a LOT of ah ha’s!
— Lori Sanchez, Foundation for California Community Colleges

Human-Centered

Participatory methods, facilitated by skilled workshop leaders, engage participants' heads (thinking), hearts (feeling) and hands (doing) in a selection of activities.

Engage your whole self in problem finding and problem solving

Human-centered design methods engage people in sharing vital perspectives and insights and help them feel more connected to the mission and goals. We also help you hold in mind and center on the needs of those you serve.
